Case study · Client · E-commerce
A storefront for one-of-a-kind pottery: scheduled drops, a custom checkout, gift cards and a dashboard that handles the whole studio.
The brief
Good Egg is a one-person studio. Every mug and bowl is one of a kind, pieces come out of the kiln in small batches, and they sell out fast. Off-the-shelf shop builders assume you have a warehouse of identical products, which is the opposite of how a potter works.
The shop needed to sell single pieces without ever overselling, make each drop feel like an event, and still leave time for actual pottery.
What I built
A custom checkout with Stripe’s secure card form styled to match the shop, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay. Prices and stock are always rechecked on the server, and a piece is only marked sold once payment succeeds, so two people can’t buy the same bowl.
Pieces can be scheduled to go live at a set time, with the next drop announced across the site. Sold-out pieces have a “notify me” list that is emailed on restock, and a markets calendar has add-to-calendar buttons.
Gift cards in any amount, discount codes with limits and dates, customer accounts with saved cards, favorites and order history.
Orders with refunds and live shipping rates and labels, bulk product tools, a newsletter and journal editor, an inbox for custom orders, and analytics that don’t use cookies.
A fat-face display type paired with a clean body face, logo files generated from the wordmark, and emails, packing slips and social images that all match.
